Are Workplace Injuries Eligible Disabilities Under Long-Term Disability Plans?

Do workplace injuries qualify as eligible disabilities under most long-term disability plans?
Long Term Disability - Question 16
Workplace injuries would qualify as eligible disabilities under most LTD plans, however, the plan or policy may require you to submit the claim through Workers’ Compensation (WSIB in Ontario) and amounts received through WSIB may result in no further benefits being payable under the LTD plan. In some cases, a workplace injury may be excluded from coverage under the LTD plan.  To determine how this may apply to you, read your benefit booklet and/or policy carefully.
