Ask A Disability Lawyer

Are long-term disability benefits indexed for inflation?

Long Term Disability - Question 40
This depends entirely on the policy. In many Group Benefit plans there is no indexation for inflation, which means that the initial amount of the benefit will remain the same throughout the claim. In order to determine whether your policy is indexed for inflation you should request a copy of the policy or obtain a benefit booklet. In the alternative you can ask your HR manager or insurance agent for clarification in your specific circumstances.
