Share is There: How We’re Continuing to Help During COVID-19

As we continue to move through the COVID-19 pandemic, we must all do our part to keep each other safe, flatten the curve of the virus, and stop its spread. As such, many businesses are now closed to protect both their staff and their clients or customers. So what does that mean for Share Lawyers? We are sure you may have questions about how COVID-19 is affecting our ability to help our clients, so we have gathered some answers to help ease any concerns you may have.

Do you have reduced hours during COVID-19?

While some businesses have opted for reduced hours as a safety precaution, we feel that it best serves our clients to remain active during the same hours of operation as we always have. As such, we are still working from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST) on weekdays. Furthermore, our phone lines are being answered around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If I live outside of Ontario, BC, or Alberta, can you still help me?

Absolutely. We still remain available to help Canadians across the country from Newfoundland to the Yukon Territory. As before the pandemic, we are unable to assist those living in the province of Quebec due to provincial restrictions.

Will my claim take longer due to COVID-19?

We are doing our very best during these difficult and frightening times to ensure no one is left unattended. At present we have had virtually no slow down in the handling of cases, but while we are doing everything in our power to ensure that your claim is not prolonged, that process is unfortunately not entirely within our control. At the end of the day, the pace at which claims are handled involves the courts and insurance companies as well as our team, which can affect the amount of time a claim takes to be resolved.

How do I check up on the status of my claim?

As always, you may call or email our team with any questions about your claim, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We can be reached by phone at 416-488-9000 or toll-free at 1-888-777-1109 and by email at

How do I talk to someone about filing a claim?

As with someone checking on the status of their claim, if you’re looking to file a claim we can be contacted by phone or email at your convenience. You may phone us, toll-free at 1-888-777-1109, email us at or visit our website to find out if you have a case. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

How has your day-to-day changed with what’s going on?

The biggest difference regarding how we’re carrying out our day-to-day business is that the large majority of our staff are now working from the safety of their homes and self-isolating to help flatten the curve. We currently have a skeleton crew working from our Toronto offices, safely social distancing and working in separate parts of the office. This remains a necessary part of our daily activity to ensure that no correspondence is missed and that we can still help our clients during these difficult times.

Are you still able to take on new claims?

Absolutely. We are still open and ready to help you with your case.

What is the process for following-up or checking the status of my claim?

Simply give us a call at 416-488-9000 or toll-free at 1-888-777-1109 or reach out via email at and someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Has your team been reduced at all due to COVID-19?

As it stands currently, we only have one staff member who is unable to keep doing their job. Otherwise, everyone is continuing to work. 90% of our staff are now working from the safety of their homes while self-isolating and social distancing, with a skeleton crew manning the desks from our Toronto office to make sure no communication is missed and that business can continue as usual.
