Caring For Our Clients: Prisha’s Experience With Share Lawyers

One of the most common things we hear when we’re talking about people being denied long term disability (LTD) benefits is that they just don’t think there is anything they can do. Those with disabilities often either return to work while they are unwell or have to use all their savings while trying to get better. We know from years of experience that there’s a way to get our clients the benefits they deserve.

We want to spread the word that for those facing down a denial of claims from their insurance company, we can help. But don’t just take that from us. Today we share some thoughts from our client Prisha, who came to Share Lawyers after her LTD benefits were denied after not being able to work due to the debilitating symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

“I would like to say thank you to your firm for the experience I have had. From beginning to end, what has been a very stressful and trying time they have walked me through.”

Some clients when they first come to a law firm, they expect to be interrogated, but at Share Lawyers, this couldn’t be further from the truth,

“Mainly, I would like to point out the efforts of Mr. Christopher Corbett. Yesterday was our mediation. I was expecting the worst. I have heard stories from others about other lawyers tearing them apart, insulting and humiliating them. I was scared, nervous and very emotional when I arrived. Chris talked and walked me through the process and actually listened to me. He heard what I had to say.”

Many people think that they’ll get lost in the legal jargon and that the lawyer won’t really care about their journey. At Share Lawyers, we care about our clients.

“When the lawyers began their statements and arguments, Chris was not only thorough with details of my doctor reports and evidence but he was so clear on how I felt through this whole ordeal, that I was brought to tears. I never felt so understood. I finally felt someone heard me.”

We always work to make sure that your side of the story is heard and understood.

“Then it was the moment I had tried to prepare for. The worst part. The time for the lawyer of the insurance company to speak.  Then when he spoke, it hit me, he actually heard Chris. He listened. He brought up a few things in their argument against me but it was not a nightmare. It was very short and I was not humiliated. I was not insulted and my character was not bashed. Whatever arguments he did have, Chris was quick to have factual responses. It was a completely different experience than I expected. It felt like a win, because finally I was heard. Finally what I have been going through and still am was heard. I was acknowledged and my disability was acknowledged.”

We were able to reach a settlement for Prisha so that she was able to take the time off work to recover,

“I was left without words. From the moment I met Chris till the moment I left, he worked so hard. He believed in me and my disability. Words cannot express my gratitude towards him. To say thank you could never be enough.

We are so thrilled and proud we were able to help Prisha get the benefits she needed and are honoured she chose us to represent her.
