My sciaticpain makes it difficult to work a regular eight-hour day. I shouldonlywork two hours a day according to my doctor’s recommendations. Will my LTD benefitscover the deficit these reducedhourswillcause in my pay?
This question can only be answered by a thorough review of the policy wording that applies to your case. Many LTD plans require you to be totally disabled before you can make a claim for LTD benefits. Working two hours a day may not be something that your employer is prepared to accommodate, so such significant restrictions may not make it possible for you to continue working and you may have to claim total disability. You should review the terms of your coverage to see if there is any provision for partial disability, as some plans do allow a claim for a top-up, but many do not.
